Rowankin

One record from the vineyard to the wine club.

Rowankin is a winery operations and wine club platform for small and mid-size wineries. It brings harvest, cellar work, inventory and club releases into one connected record, so the winemaker always knows what is in the barrels and the club manager always knows what has been promised to members.

The Challenge

A winery runs on two calendars. The wine keeps its own: harvest, fermentation, months in barrel, bottling. The wine club keeps another: releases, shipments and pickup parties promised to members long before the wine is ready. The data behind both lives in spreadsheets, cellar notebooks and separate club software.

The challenge was to connect these two worlds in one product: show the cellar team and the club manager the same wine, and make sure a decision in the cellar never quietly breaks a promise made to members.

Our Solution

We designed Rowankin around one idea: every wine has a single record, and every promise is attached to it. Instead of separate tools for the cellar and the club, the product follows each batch from the block to the bottle and shows, at every decision, how much of it is already spoken for.

Mapping Two Calendars

We mapped the winery year and the club year side by side: harvest, aging, bottling, releases and shipments. This showed exactly where the two calendars drift apart and where promises to members are made.

One Record per Wine

We built the information architecture around the batch. Batch Detail follows a wine through seven stages, from block to bottle, with lab readings, cellar work and tasting notes in one place.

Designing for the Cellar Floor

We designed the mobile version for the cellar itself: large touch targets, calm statuses without traffic lights, and screens that keep working underground, with gloves on and a weak signal.

Promises Before Decisions

We designed Spoken For and the impact preview, so a cellar decision shows its effect on club releases before it is saved, together with realistic options and a note to the club manager.
